To remove yourself from an event that you have a ticket for, you need to refund/delete the ticket from your badge.

  1. View your badge.
  2. You'll see your name under My Badges.
  3. Click your badge and you'll see details about it, along with a list of tickets (events) attached to it.
  4. Click the Delete button next to the ticket/event you wish to remove.

Absolutely not! In most cases you can learn the game when you sit down at the table. There may be some tournaments where more experience would be helpful. Demos will be available for some games, particularly board games.

To schedule role-playing events, we use a sign-up sheet and marshaling system. If you would like to run or “judge” an event at Midwest GameFest, please visit our Events page for details on discounts and to sign up to run an event.

To play in an event, go to the sign-up sheet. The sheet will list a table number for the event. At the event’s starting time, report to the table listed. If more than one table is needed, the judge will send the players to the appropriate table. Please show up on time. You must attend the marshaling table; do not assume that you can get in an event simply because your name is on the form. The order of names on the list is the order of priority should there be more players than available space. Players who pre-registered will have their names already printed on the sign-up sheets and get first priority.

Scheduled Board Game Events
Any board game on the event list will start at the scheduled time. Show up to the table 5-10 minutes before the start time and let a board game judge know that you want to play. Pick-up Board Games
There is a library of board games available for play at any time during the con. To start a pick-up game, simply check out a game (or bring your own) and ask around for players in the board game area. You can also ask staff to add a sign-up sheet for your game at the Sign-Up Desk. Other players may sign up. At the given time, select an open table and confirm its availability with con staff. The judges can also teach games and play along if an extra person is needed.

Go to the sign-up area and add your name to the signup sheet of the game you wish to play. If the signup sheet for a game is full, go over and ask if they can fit you in anyway. Sometimes they may be able to accommodate you. However, you may have to wait a couple of turns for reinforcements to arrive.

New players – do not be put off by the size of the table or the number of figures. You will only be handling a small part of them along with the other players on your side. All you really need to know in a miniatures game is how far you move, how far you shoot and when in the turns you do each. Everything else isn’t necessary to know until it occurs. Game masters will be there to guide players through any complications that occur. After a couple of turns, you will find that you and the other players have grasped the game and will only need to turn to the game master for the oddball occurrences.

Don’t panic if you break something on the soldiers. This happens. Keep a hold of the broken part and tell the person running a game. They will put it in their repair box and the game will go on.

Redeeming discount codes from an advertisement, prize certificate. email, or other source is easy! Once you've created your account, browse for badges that match your code. Some codes only work for certain bage types, but this is usually stated on the material that accompanied your discount code. For example, if you received an award certificate with a discount code you would expect the certificate to say what type of badge (4-day badge, 1-day, etc.).

Follow these steps to apply your discount.

  1. Select a badge.

  2. Once a badge type is chosen you will need to put in the name and email address of the badge holder (you or who you are buying it for).
  3. Type or paste your discount code in the Discount Code field.
    Note: If you don't have a discount code already, you may be eligible for one from the list provided. Simply click the discount code to use it.
  4. Click Add to Cart.
  5. Check out, pay (if you owe anything), and voila!

Hey, life happens. Refunds are available until you check in at the convention or the day after if you can't attend. To get a refund:

  1. Log into your Tabletop.Events account.
  2. Click Receipts on the right side.
  3. Click your order number, and click the Refund button.
  4. Click the Refund button.

Sometimes you need your badge number. For online raffles, for example. To find your badge number online:

  1. Login to view your badge: https://www.midwestgamefest.org/eventsite/badges

  2. In the Attend menu, choose to Get Your Badge.
